Robotický tým RobUL složený z dvanácti středoškoláků z celého ústeckého kraje se pod dohledem pěti zkušených mentorů připravuje na prestižní robotickou soutěž FIRST Robotics Competition, která se koná již za dva měsíce v americkém Denveru. Ústečtí nadšenci se tak stanou konkurencí pro dalších 3700 týmů z celého světa.
FIRST Robotics Competition je mezinárodní soutěž s více než 30letou tradicí, jejímž cílem je skloubit dovednosti z programování, 3D tisku, senzoriky a manuálních zručností. Středoškolští studenti za pomoci svých mentorů během šesti týdnů nadesignují, zkonstruují a naprogramují robota dle stanoveného zadání, který se následně utká v plnění úkolů s roboty protivníků na regionální soutěži v Denveru. V období od konce února do konce března se koná stovka regionálních soutěží v USA, Kanadě, Turecku a několika dalších zemí ve světě. Vítězové těchto regionálních soutěží pak míří na velké finále, které se uskuteční v dubnu v americkém Houstonu.. V Denveru bude tým RobUL měřit síly se 49 dalšími týmy z USA, Mexika, Austrálie, Číny a Tchajwanu.
Členem týmu RobUL se mohou stát dívky i chlapci do 19 let navštěvující jakoukoliv střední školu i učiliště v Ústeckém kraji. Klíčový je pouze zájem o robotiku, programování, senzoriku, 3D tisk, konstruování a týmový duch. Letos se do týmu přihlásilo 16 chlapců nejen z ústeckých průmyslových škol nebo gymnázií, ale i z Chomutova nebo ze Štětí. Dnes má tým 12 aktivních členů.
Soutěž pro rok 2025 se inspiruje podmořským světem. Robot bude například muset manipulovat s prvky v podobě korálů. „Tyto úkoly kladou vysoké nároky na konstrukci, mechanickou preciznost a týmovou koordinaci,“ popisuje zadání soutěže Jan Krejčí, mentor týmu z Přírodovědecké fakulty UJEP.
Nejdůležitějším milníkem v této cestě za americkým snem byl nizozemský Eindhoven, který RobUL navštívil na počátku letošního ledna. Společné s týmy ze Švýcarska, Řecka a Česka sledovali mezinárodní zahájení soutěže, představení herní arény a prvků a samotné zadání pro letošní ročník. Vyměňovali si s týmy své zkušenosti, sbírali inspiraci a posilovali mezinárodní vztahy. Nejcennějším však pro „RobULáky“ byla možnost vyzkoušet si své nápady v akci a sdílet je s evropskými kolegy, čímž velmi posílili své šance na úspěch v Americe. „Účast na tomto setkání byla pro tým RobUL obrovskou inspirací a motivací. Všichni jeho členové nyní směřují své úsilí na přípravu na soutěž v Denveru, která proběhne v polovině března, kde budou reprezentovat jako druhý tým Českou republiku a jako jediný tým Ústecký kraj. To vše by nemohlo proběhnout bez finanční podpory z projektu RUR – region univerzitě, univerzita regionu, který zastřešuje Přírodovědecká fakulta UJEP, a také bez Inovačního centra Ústeckého kraje, Fakulty strojního inženýrství UJEP a dalších regionálních partnerů,“ upřesňuje Tamara Klein, garantka aktivity Robotým pro mezinárodní soutěže, pod který RobUL patří.
